    First New Employee Marks The Beginning Of Job Recruitment Drive

    PENTICTON, BC, February 8, 2017 - The new Cascades Casino in Penticton construction is well underway and is kicking off a recruitment drive to find a new team of talented and enthusiastic to operate the brand-new 45,000 sq. foot entertainment destination. The new Cascades Casino Penticton will feature a spectacular gaming floor with exciting entertainment and multiple dining and culinary options to suit any taste; including their signature restaurant – Match Eatery & Public House, which will feature the first rooftop patio and a full-service Buffet.

    “Our goal is to create memorable experiences for our guests. To do that we need to grow our team. We are looking for those that share our passion for people and commitment to exceptional customer service. I know we will find great local residents to join our team and deliver on this commitment. ”said Mike Magnusson, General Manager of Cascades Casino Penticton.

    Cascades Casino has announced the hiring of its first new employee. Nathan L'Heureux has accepted the role of Human Resources Generalist. He holds an HR Management Diploma from Palliser Campus of Saskatchewan Polytechnic and is currently working towards obtaining his professional certification (CPHR). L'Heureux will be responsible for the recruitment of close to 150 new employees that will join the existing 150 staff members to operate the new location.

    “I am excited to be a part of such a strong team that will be instrumental in delivering the highest level of customer service to our guests,” said Nathan L'Heureux.

    To prepare for the Grand Opening this spring, Gateway is ready to begin the hiring process in Penticton. The first priority is to create a strong team to manage the new food & beverage offerings including Food & Beverage Manager, Match Manager, Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, Chef de Partie. Hospitality and gaming staff are also needed.

    Cascades will host a large-scale job fair on Thursday, February 16th, at the Penticton Lakeside Resort’s ballroom. An afternoon session will run from 1pm to 4pm and an evening session from 6pm to 9pm. No pre-registration is required.

The team we build is integral to delivering those memorable experiences.     Exciting re-commitment to Penticton brings 150 new jobs and a $25 million construction investment

    May 13, 2016 – Penticton, BC – Gateway Casinos & Entertainment (Gateway) today officially launched construction of Cascades Casino Penticton. This premier entertainment and gaming property brings a spectacular gaming floor and exciting entertainment and culinary options to the city’s South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC). The project will bring up to 150 new jobs and a $25 million investment to the Penticton economy.

    Cascades Casino Penticton will be the go-to destination for gaming, entertainment and dining experiences. Match Eatery and Public House, Gateway’s signature restaurant, will open featuring an open-air rooftop patio.

    “The SOEC is the perfect home for the newest addition to the Gateway family of gaming and entertainment properties,” said Tony Santo, CEO of Gateway Casinos & Entertainment. “I am excited to get moving on this project and excited to get it completed. Cascades Penticton will truly have something for everyone.”

    In addition to the long-term and ongoing investment, of 400 casino employees, construction will see an immediate injection of 200 person-years of construction employment to the region.

    Gateway Casinos & Entertainment to Break Ground on Cascades Casino Penticton, a Premier Entertainment and Gaming Property

    Up to 150 new jobs and $25 million construction investment for Penticton’s economy

    Gateway Casinos & Entertainment (Gateway) will start construction on Cascades Casino Penticton. The premier entertainment and gaming property will feature a spectacular gaming floor with exciting entertainment and multiple dining and culinary options to suit any taste; including their signature restaurant – Match Eatery and Public House, which will feature their first rooftop patio.

    The project will bring up to 150 new jobs and a $25 million investment to the Penticton economy. In addition to this long-term investment, the project will result in 200 person-years of construction employment. When fully staffed, Cascades Casino Penticton will have approximately 300 employees.

    Construction, which will commence on May 2nd, will be ongoing throughout 2016 with the grand opening planned for spring 2017. At the ground breaking photo-op, other project details will also be announced to the media.

    PENTICTON – January 4, 2016 – Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited (Gateway) took a significant step Monday towards relocating its Lake City Casino to the South Okanagan Events Centre, as the project was passed at a special council meeting and earned support from the Penticton City Council.

    The new site at the SOEC will bring up to 150 new jobs and a $25 million investment to the local economy. The Cascades Casino Penticton will include a spectacular gaming floor, multiple full-service restaurants and live entertainment. It will also feature the first rooftop patio for their signature restaurant, Match Eatery & Public House.

    Gateway has worked from the beginning to create a project that meets the needs of the Penticton community and allows the operation to stay in the city. This includes hosting five open house sessions where people came from across the Penticton region to learn about the project and offer their comments and suggestions.

    “I’d personally like to thank everyone who attended Monday’s council meeting, as well as our five open house sessions,” said Nijjar. “Gateway Casinos has always valued the opinions of people in this community and the input we’ve received continues to enhance our project.”

    Gateway thanked Mayor Andrew Jakubeit and members of Penticton City Council for their thoughtful consideration of the project.

    The next step for Gateway is to continue working with its partners throughout the community to finalize plans for the new location. Gateway is planning to open the new Cascades Casino Penticton in spring 2017.

    This new location will allow Gateway to offer an enhanced entertainment experience to our customers from across the Penticton region, including a better casino, a full-service restaurant and live entertainment. Gateway’s proposed new casino will also bring economic benefits to Penticton by creating new jobs, attracting more visitors to the area and by delivering more revenue for the City of Penticton to help pay for public services.

    Gateway Casinos and the City of Penticton will be hosting a series of open houses on November 30 from 5 – 9pm at the Penticton Seniors' Drop-In Centre Society; December 1 from 9 – 11am and 6 – 8pm at the Sandman Hotel; and December 8 from 1 -3pm and 5 – 7pm at the Ramada to allow the public to learn more about the project.
